On a recent walk through a small jungle, I had to cross a hanging bridge. In fact, it is the very one pictured in this photo. Though very low to the ground, it also moves, a lot. In fact, even though I was grasping the sides and walking very intentionally, it seemed to swing more and more. The more nervous I got, the more it moved. I wanted to run to the other side, but was too afraid.
For some reason, on the way back, I decided to handle the bridge with more confidence. I simply decided it would be easy. I walked confidently onto the bridge as if it was stable. The strangest thing happened. The bridge hardly moved! It was as if my attitude about the bridge was responsible for how it behaved. Isn’t that the perfect metaphor for how we impact any life situation? 😉
