Mary Pederson Client Page

On this page you will find summaries of our meetings, as well as handy information that may compliment our sessions. Here are the top 3 goals we have for our work together, in order of priority:

SESSION SUMMARY #4. APRIL 15, 2024.

Next call = TBD

REAL LIFE We spoke about some real life scenarios traveling when you have to choose accommodation, thinking about safety, and allowing flexibility so when you meet wonderful people and want to detour from the plans you thought you made, you can!
WATCH THE VIDEO For specific reminders of some of the logistical info we discussed.
PATH FORWARD Research information as you can. Be aware of the overwhelm it brings up, and when it happens, write down the question that comes up with "if only I knew XXXX". When that list of questions gets long, reach out and let's do a session to go through all those questions. I think you chose perfectly - we did a foundational course, and now you can add on....when you're ready, instead of all at once.

SESSION SUMMARY #3. MARCH 19, 2024.

Next call = April 15th at 10am MDT

HOMEWORK REVIEW You didn't get to tracking your expenses so we reviewed how important it is for you to try this out now to create a padding for yourself in future, and allow you to sustain travels if you want to.
COUNTRY SHORTLIST You've honed in on Europe, specifially from Norway down to Portugal, or the other way. Possibly Spring 2025 from Portugal up, and possibly Fall 2025 from Norway down.
AIRLINES AND HOTELS Alaska Airlines has some great partners for your trip. We talked about strategies to decide when to use credit cards to rack airpoints or hotel points (see video)
HEALTH INSURANCE Ideally, you should chat with a travel insurance broker. Google "health insurance broker for XX" where XX is your home city. Look into a whether you're better with a US plan and getting supplemental emergency health and travel insurance, or whether you should get an expat insurance plan.

HOMEWORK & RESOURCES - March 19th

Decide whether you want to do a Spring or Fall trip. Look at weather, prices for accommodation and consider whether you want to see the northern lights during their peak year.

SESSION SUMMARY #2. MARCH 12, 2024.

Next call = March 19th at 10am MDT

BUDGET DISCUSSION We reviewed the pragmatism of your current budget, and discussed per diem and tracking. It's advisable to have a separate budget for "once-in-a-lifetime" experiences.
SAVINGS STRATEGIES We reviewed strategies such as booking tours on location, "just asking" for discounts at sites like museums, cooking instead of eating out
MONEY SAFETY. Make sure to have at least 2 debit and 2 credit cards as you travel, in case one gets stolen or compromised.
EMAILS BETWEEN SESSIONS Please email Heather in-between sessions with any questions or help you need, so we can get you the most value possible in our condensed program. Note - Heather is having some email issues, so make sure to text her if you don't receive a reply within 12 - 24 hours.
